Hi! I'm looking for a good trumpet duet! Looking for an encore, show-stopper piece.. kind of a la Clarke cornet solo but for duet...I've seen Cousins for trumpet and trombone but haven't come across anything really for two Trumpets.[/b] |

There are so many! You can see a huge list of books here.
You should pay special attention to books like the Kopprasch and the Gallay Grand Duos, those are books that have longer Concert style duets. The Cox Concert Duets are suitable as well, same goes for the Sachse duets too.
Its tons of fun going through them all! |

See if you can snag a copy of the Carmen Fantasy Don Hunsberger wrote for Barb and Charlie. Probably too long for what you want but a showstopper. I think we premiered it with them years ago, Hunsberger conducting.
Easier would be to grab a couple pics and do the last met of Vivaldi or Franceschini. Bach/Biggs "My Spirit Be Joyful" also gets people out of there happy, as does the Telemann Canonic duet in the Rubank Adv Duets book. Don't need accompanist for that, or a number of others in there. As everyone can tell I'm just pulling off the top of my head... Have to think a bit. |

Here are some good duets. I'm not sure if any are "encores or show-stoppers" but they are fun and challenging to play.

Thanks, the cover was fun to create. I put it together when I was just learning Photoshop. Creating that disintegrating cobblestone walkway for the Valkyrie was challenging. _________________ In his retirement he had become that most dreaded of former athletes, the one who always remembered how much harder it was in his day "when ships were made of wood and men were made of steel."
