seems 1600i no more? so is 1602 the replacement? is it still designed by the same person? which is more desirable? |

To my knowledge, the 1600i is still available. The 1600i is the Ingram model, an artist series trumpet that was a collaboration between Jupiter and Roger Ingram. The 1602 is the Jupiter XO ML series horn. The 1604 is the XO series large bore.
I am sure others will chime in with more info.
Hope this helps.

Both are still listed on the XO Brass website: http://www.xobrass.com/trumpets/bb-trumpets/
I don't see any indication that the 1600i is discontinued. Where did you see that?
You can read the specs, but they're quite different. Roger Ingram plays the 1600i.
I've play tested the 1602s--great horn. I haven't played the 1600i. I'd say they're both desirable, depending on whether you want a general purpose trumpet (1602s) or a medium-bore for commercial/lead (1600i, although I expect it might work well in other genres too). _________________ Bb Yamaha Xeno 8335IIS

I think the OP has made an assumption based off the numbering of the Jupiter XO system. The 1602 and 1604 are other XO horns, not replacements. The 1600i is still available, and a totally different horn to the other two.
The 1600i is a super horn - I have one and while it is no longer my main Bb, it is still a superb horn.

The 1600i looks like a medium bore, used by jazz, commercial lead players. It looks to have a lot of resemblances to a Schilke B6 or S42
The 1602 looks like a more versatile "all around horn", kinda looks like some kind of Bach 37 incarnation
I don't think the numbering system reflects relatively to the models |
