Has anyone played the musical Titanic? Just wondering if it's tough or not.
Thanks! _________________ I play what works for me |

I did a run of it around 2009. Nothing hard, but I remember mute changes when the boat sinks. The directer wanted a complete black out, pit lights of any form included. This was a problem because I had black mutes and trumpet stands. Since then I have put glow in the dark tape on my stands, and mutes. I like having the tape on my mutes as in dark pits they do not get lost in the shadows. Fun show, but like Assassins a bit somber as playing a show about a real events makes you contemplate it from multiple angles over the duration of the run. |

The actual music is easy, but the show itself is a little bizarre. There are a lot of "happy" songs after they hit the iceberg. And the people in boats sing "goodbye, we'll see you again" to the people in the water. There's also a love song between the radio operator and his wireless machine... |

I think I remember a trumpet solo in the overture. Very playable show.
However, the book could not hit water (good memorable songs) if it fell out of a boat. _________________ Schilke B5

Yes, not too difficult. There is an optional picc. part somewhere, as I recall (I played it back in 2002). There is also a way to sneak the melody to "My Heart Will Go On" in the bows... |
