The Messina Covers are nice looking bags, but not rigid enough for what I'm looking for.

I think that I may have to save some pennies and go for the Torpedo Coyote - that looks pretty close to what I'm looking for, unless someone has one of the older ProTec Pro Pac doubles they want to sell me.

A few years back I asked Glenn Cronkite to do a custom case for me. I needed a single case that was a bit longer (Conn Vocabell) than an today's typical horns.

He was reasonably priced. Give him a jingle.

Glen has retired. He might still take on a job or two, who knows.

From the thread Cronkhite the Ultimate Gig Bag and Why

I sure hope that someone takes over from Mr. kronkhite now that he's retiring, and continuke to manufacture these cases to his standards.

Old school manufacturing at it's best!

We did just that, and made a "practice" single bag yesterday. It looks exactly like his -- same thread, same rivets, same leather, straighter sewn lines .

It will be up on the Torpedo Bag page in the next week or two, and we'll add the products as we get to them. His current 2-page website is still "his," but will be updated soon with a new site.

Wiseman or Torpedo. Neither are cheap but both are worth every penny!!! The best cases made in the world. IMHO

I have the iPac double but I would've bought the Coyote if it weren't for the money. I just didn't have it at the time I needed a new case. It makes sense to protect your investment, especially since you'd save that much in repairs.
