Hi

Looking for some advice regarding music to listen to.

Soundtracks ? I dig the Bodyguard, Born 4th July.....

Classical : great melodies

Jazz : melody oriented is my preference

If I had to recommend some, it would be :

Soundtracks : Bodyguard (Extended version with lots of Gary Grant ), Born 4th July ( same thing with Tim Morrison ), I'd throw some John Williams symphonic stuff, some Danny Elfman, James Horner, Alan silvestri

Classical : of course Maurice Andre, Phil Smith and..

Jazz : Carl Saunders, Bobby Shew, Gerard Presencer, Neil Yates..

Thanks for your input

Muggsy Spanier. I just got back from vacation and he was prominent in my listening. Now I have so much plunger practice to do.

I started listening to jazz less than two years ago so I am trying to listen to as many different trumpet players as possible. Some of the music I listen to as part of my music education. But, I noticed that certain CDs repeatedly get popped into the player in my car because they are just a joy to hear repeatedly. Here they are (in no particular order):

Trumpet 102 (Trent Austin)
https://trentaustin.bandcamp.com/album/trumpet-102

Earfood (Roy Hargrove)

Moment to Moment (Roy Hargrove)

Full Circle (Wayne Bergeron)

You Call This a Living (Wayne Bergeron)

Plays Well With Others (Wayne Bergeron)

A Beautiful Friendship (Gary Urwin Jazz Orchestra with Carl Saunders)

Tonight Show Band Vols 1 & 2 (With Doc, of course)

Warm regards,
Grits
