Are they actually ... the same grease?
The reason I ask is, the Selmer in the little square bottle is becoming extremely expensive, while the Bach grease - both called no. 2942 - is inexpensive as you'd expect slide grease to be.
Thanks in advance if anyone knows... _________________ Yamaha 8335LA with Blessing 3C, 5C, Schilke 11A4A |

You may be looking at price for a box of 12 bottles of the Selmer. You can get single bottles of Selmer from Walmart online for $4.99, I've seen the Bach for as low as $3.99 a bottle. I'm not certain they are the same, but they are both owned by Conn-Selmer and I can't see why they would have 2 different kinds of slide grease. It's like Chrysler sells the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Durango, same vehicle different label. _________________ Shires Destino III

Yes I think you are right.
I was goings nuts trying to figure out the Selmer-labeled grease on Amazon, because according to one reviewer, it's advertised as 12 bottles but you only get one. Complain, and you get one more.
I think it's the same grease, and there was a discussion on here a while back about how various oils and greases are starting to be put into these bottles with "safety" caps and notice the Bach stuff has a "safety" cap.
Thanks for confirming what I was beginning to strongly suspect. _________________ Yamaha 8335LA with Blessing 3C, 5C, Schilke 11A4A |
