If you suddenly found yourself with $1,000 in your pocket, what trumpet accessories would you spend it on?
I know I would buy some mutes I've been looking at, but I'm curious to see what everyone here would put that money toward. |

I'd send a few horns off to Bob Reeves for much needed valve alignments.

I have a couple unique mpcs I'd like to have copied. After that, maybe a few mutes, such as a Robinson cup, some of the original pre-Micro Shastock mutes... _________________ -Tom Hall-

That's what I SHOULD buy. What I would actually buy is one of Trent Austin's vintage cornets that he modified to accept a regular trumpet mouthpiece. I'd like a cornet to use for busking. It is easier for me to use a plunger mute on a cornet.
Also, a music stand would be nice: http://www.descahome.com/presto/

Limited specifically to accessories I would probably go with .......
Coyote 2.5 (Not cuz I need it. Just cuz I want it)
Ray Robinson Mel-O-Wah (to complete my set)
Vintage Shastock Solotone
That would probably be right around $1000. Give or take a few $ _________________ Van Laar B6

Easy decision! I'd have my Yamaha 6335S replated. It's a very high mileage horn, but could be a long term horn for younger a generation! _________________ '71 LA Benge 5X Bb

Plane tickets and hotel to get a lesson or two from one of the great teachers I've heard so much about but never been able to see in person. Maybe two with $1k; the hard part will be choosing whom to visit. _________________ "After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley |

Lessons with me, if I wasn't me.
Seriously, I'd spend it on lessons with Arturo Sandoval. Even if he just reinforced what I learned from Claude Gordon, that would be a good thing. |

New bag to replace the aging leather triple that's starting to develop holes. Maybe one with wheels. Perhaps a GR consultation. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."
