Hi, I have a Bach tr200, which I quite like. I bought it from someone whose kid had clearly left it in the case with the slide pulled out and left it that way for years. The leadpipe is kind of brown and I think it's also a little loose and in fact the leadpipe may be heading towards issues.

Anyway... I saw what was advertised as a Bach tr200 tuning slide for <$100 and decided to give it a try. It's more D shaped and doesn't have a brace, so I think it's actually an Omega or Mercedes slide.

Question: does anyone know how interchangeable Bach slides are? Do you think I could try an M/K slide in my tr200 or would a strad slide fit? All are ml bore. This may also make a difference down the road if I need to get the leadpipe changed.

Thanks!

The first thing to do is measure the inner slides outside diameter. I don't recall the arrangement of the TR200. If like the student model TR 300, it may have LT tubing on the top. If I'm not mistaken Mercedes have the same tubing on top as bottom (like Stadivarius) but Mercedes II have the LT tube on top. Best of luck!

I had a TR200 when I was younger, while I think the model might be different now (I think new factory), both top and bottom legs were the same ID/OD. However, it was not the same length as the slides on the Bach Strad I replaced it with.

I think the only way to find out is to either try out a strad slide or measure it.

Best of luck!

Thank you all for the help--always fun to have world class folk weigh in here

The slide fits fine and I like it. I'm still trying to figure out if it affects the blow at all (it may actually be a little tighter/stuffier). I just thought it was nice to know it fits. I may try it on the Bach 37 at my parents' house too, just because I'm curious.
