I haven’t seen this for years. Wow Doc sounds epic, he was really in his prime. Thanks for the share.

Reminds me of a much better time in the world.

Excellent.

Some more Doc Christmas video. From a Milwaukee area PBS broadcast from '92. Doc and the TS band doing Jingle Bells. Snooky does some plunger noodling at about 1:00, Doc first comes in a little after 2:00. Anyone know who the clarinet soloist is? There's another video from the same show up but Doc doesn't play much. Overall the concert was more of a feature for Mel Torme and Maureen McGovern.

A great Tommy Newsom arrangement and that was John Bambridge on clarinet. John wrote many wonderful charts for Doc and when Newsom wasn't there, he played lead alto. Shaunessy was so solid you could't play it wrong and Chuck swung his butt off. Snooky always loved Johnny Audino and after he died, Chuck came on the band and Snooky said he actually liked Chuck better. No one swung harder than Snooky so that was the ultimate compliment. How cool was that when I got to play those charts later on with the band?
