I am a trumpet player in the Navy Band at Memphis, TN. I am looking for a trumpet player to take lessons from. My driving limit is about a 3 to 4 hour radius from Memphis (that's one way, not the whole trip). Any names or contacts? _________________ Played in:

What about Jeff Bailey and Steve Patrick, the guys who played for the Instrumental Resources recordings? I believe they are Nashville-based.
Or David Spencer at U of Memphis-

Yeah, I would love to get with them (Bailey/Patrick) but how? I have searched the web for contact info but cannot find any yet. Spencer is an option but the Nashville guys are more my style.

Richard Steffen (lead player on the North Texas Lizard album) is teaching at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. He's an extremely fine player and teacher.

Eric Swisher at Murray State University would be a great teacher. |

With the exception of Eric Swisher, I know and work with all the other mentioned players ( Jeff, Steve and Ric very regularly) and think you'd very much enjoy and profit from time spent with them. The closest to you, Dave Spencer, is a wonderful player and teacher, and might be able to make other recommendations in the Memphis area, but if you decide to come east you're only 3 hours away from the Nashville, Murfreesboro, Clarksville area. Also teaching at MTSU in M'boro is the fine jazz player and composer/arranger Jamie Simmons. Also teaching here is Jim Williamson, a wonderful all-around player
I'll give Jeff and Steve a call and ask them to take a look at this set of posts and get in touch with you. You can get phone numbers for any of the Nashville area players from the union, local 257. 615 / 244-9514: ext. 221 or 222. Just tell whowver finally answers that you need member numbers.
good luck wherever you end up. george tidwell 615/ 662-1593 |

I would be happy to teach anyone who would like a lesson. The best way to get in touch with me is my cell. (615)414-6025. Steve Patrick |
