Just a heads up, we have listed some factory direct, B stock instruments for sale on our Reverb store. All are brand new with full warranty coverage they are just cosmetically not quite right.

As of right now, we have 3 800DLX cornets (2 silver, 1 lacquer) with sub-par engraving and 2 3003 trumpets (both satin silver) with some surface bell pits and solder shadows.

We have decided to go direct with these because I have heard to many horror stories of dealers buying B stock at a discount and not passing on the savings or disclosing the issues with their customers. This way, you know what you are getting.

If you're interested, you can check out our Reverb shop at https://reverb.com/shop/getzen-company-factory-direct

I recently bought a Getzen Classic Eterna this way. Excellent price and quality. Go for it.

Can someone please pose price guidelines?

This is a little off the subject, but I can't find the recent post about small gripes about the 800DLX cornet where Brett Getzen responded.

In that post Mr. Getzen stated that the post pandemic 2020 onward 3850 custom cornets had sheet copper bells instead of the seamless copper bells of the older models. If that is so, why are the cornets still being described as having seamless copper bells on the Getzen web site and also in dealers descriptions of the cornets?

Thanks for mentioning this. I wasn't seeing anything (living outside the US) but once I selected continental US for the region it showed them to me.

I can answer that. Plain and simple, our web guy missed the update and I hadn’t noticed. I’ll get that changed ASAP.

While you're at it, Brett, there may be a missing item on the web page for the 900 Classic.

There's no description for the lead pipe, which I believe is nickel silver. There is a description for a nickel silver 7C mouthpiece.

So I just went on and looked. The 3850 cornet page does say the bell is a sheet and sheet copper. However, the 900 Eterna Classic is wrong. Not really wrong, just combined the mouthpipe and mouthpiece fields into one.

Bret thank you for clearing that up. I must have gotten an old web page yesterday with the seamless bell description. Sometimes that happens. The retailers are still not up to date on that.

It happens.

Unfortunately, I can't control the retailers. For three years we have told them via mailings, price lists, etc... about the new bell. Last summer we had one of foreign customers contact us because they had just noticed the seams on the new 3850 bell and they thought something was wrong with them.

I wonder if a VPN using a non-Canadian ip address would fix that - and if you try that use a real VPN, not one of the free ones.

It is that time of year again. Time to clean up the shelves of show horns, rep samples, and a few B stock instruments that didn't quite make the cut. I could have started a new thread, but why clutter up the servers with more of the same.

I am still working on the listings, but here is what should be going live on our Reverb store soon:

B STOCK

Edwards X-13 trumpet
Satin lacquer with a small stain on the bell under the lacquer

Getzen 900 Eterna Classic trumpet
Satin lacquer. Made for a custom order and got all the way to shipping before the bell received two small dents.

900DLX Eterna Deluxe trumpet
Bright lacquer with a few lacquer spits/fish eyes on the bell near the 2nd valve

907DLX Eterna Deluxe trumpet
Bright lacquer with scratches under the lacquer on the underside of the bell

Show/Demo/Discontinued

Edwards X-27 trumpet
Silver plated with signs of light wear. Used as a sales rep demo horn

Edwards X-17 trumpet
Satin lacquer. This one was originally a B Stock horn for staining around one of the bell braces, but it was used as a sales rep demo horn for a few years so it also has some signs of light wear.

Getzen 481S cornet
Bright silver plate. This is actually a brand new cornet left over since the 481 model was discontinued. It has spent its entire life on the shelf looking for a good home.

Getzen 481 cornet
Bright lacquer with signs of light wear. Used as a sales rep sample back when the 481 was available in lacquer and before it was discontinued.

Getzen 580 Capri cornet
Bright lacquer with some signs of light wear. This was a show horn back when the 580 Capri was still offered in lacquer (only silver plate now)

I'm hoping to have these all listed in the next week or so. I still need to get pictures showing the wear, defects, etc... I will update this thread when they go live. It's a great opportunity to pick up a new or new to you Getzen or Edwards that would otherwise just keep taking up space on our shelves.

Oh, and for your less sophisticated trombone playing friends (only joking) we also have a few 1047FR Eterna show horns, a 1047FR Eterna B stock, and a 1036F Eterna show horn that will be going up as well.

Only thing better than some of these horns woud be an offcial Red Ryder 200-shot air rifle with a compass in the stock!

Wow! X-13, X-17, 900DLX, 907DLX, 900 Eterna Classic...fantastic horns! Someone's going to be getting a great deal if they don't mind minor cosmetic imperfections. I've purchased "Directly from Getzen" on Reverb in the past and been very satisfied.

All but the 907DLX (should be up tomorrow) listings are up and live. There are some great deals if you’re willing to overlook some minor cosmetic issues.

Two updates to the store. First, the X-13 is sold. I knew that one wouldn't last, but I might have another. Second, the 907DLX is live now.
