Hi all,
Has anyone already tried the Ray Farr diamond flugelhorn mouthpiece?
Any thoughts on it? Pros or Cons?
Also, since they offer only 1 size of which the specifications are not mentioned on their website, can anyone compare it to another mouthpiece sizewise?

Thanks,

EDIT : When ordering from their website, they seem to ask a WHOPPING 142 pounds for delivery. Luckily 4barsrest only charges 10 pounds ... and I need to add 32 euro's custom cost for Europe main land. ... So that would be around 85 euros to my doorstep. That is an acceptable price ... specially compared to some others

After watching 2 clips of Garot Michael Conklin about this mouthpiece, I decided to try it out.
I contacted the people at Ray Farr and according to them, the rim size should correspond to a Wick 2.
I can only compare it to a Curry 1.5FLD and the rim of the Ray Farr is just a bit smaller. The rim contour of the Ray Farr is also a bit smaller than the Curry. The Ray Farr is also less deep than the Curry FLD.

How does it sound (always hard to describe )?
When using the Ray Far on my Kanstul 1525, it sounds really good.
Bit less dark/warm than when using the Curry, but it adds a bit of fragility.
I guess the Ray Farr is more aimed for the flugel sound withing a Brass Band.
However, combined with a rather large flugel like the 1525 it results in a rather nice unique sound.

This one will probably be a keeper because, but also combined with the Curry. It will depend on the music I need to use my flugel for.
