Have anyone tried the KGUMusic deflector for trumpet and the Jazzlab deflector pro? Any thoughts on which of them i should buy?

I've very interested in how this thread pans out, been looking for something decent for live 'horn band' playing for a while now, and have yet to find an ideal *and* portable solution.

I too am interested. Does your post imply you found an ideal but non-portable solution?

Perhaps mentioning your experiences would be beneficial?

I have the SelfieSound, that's been copied by KGU it seems. Great stuff, a real chops-saver. Used mine for years, and it's always in my case!

I’ve used the Sound Back trumpet shield for at least 15 years now. Excellent purchase for those gigs where the sound guy barely gives you anything in your monitor.

I’m not sure how I’d feel about using a product that attached to my bell. I’m sure it would affect the resonance in some way, as well as make the horn feel front heavy. Plus I’m sure you can’t use a trumpet stand with a shield that mounts to your bell.

Does that attach easily to a 57 with no 'bell' out front, like a 58?

have to agree about the clip-on, plus, if it's a gig where you want to also use a flugel (or anything else), or mutes, or a bell stand, or .... yeah.

Yes, absolutely. The hole on the Sound Back fits perfectly with either the 57 or 58.
I’ve used it on a 57 for years with zero issues.
