Got my copy of their CD today, called "New Your-Philly Junction". If you don't have this and enjoy post bebop at its finest go out and get yourself a copy. These guys just bop their butts off. Oh, and it's on the Crisscross label which is kinda pricy, but the Aebersold web site sells stuff from that label for $14 and change.

Thanks for the recommendation, Larry. I had almost picked it up at a store in New York City for more than that price. I was wondering if anyone had listened to it. If you say it is good, I will most likely purchase it sometime. Yes, I really like Joe's playing!

I've been meaning to get this CD for a while - I must pick it up. I heard Swana at Smalls one night (when that great club was still open) and he really blew me away, and Magnarelli is a great player as well. We have a mutual friend who has nothing but great things to say about Joe as a person as well.

Larry - let us know what you think of Wynton's new one when you get it.

Another tip - pick up Fred Hersch's new record called The Fred Hersch Trio + 2 - featuring Ralph Alessi on trumpet - he sounds sooooo good. It comes out the 2nd week of March I think.

Also trumpeter Ron Horton has a new one out called Subtextures - haven't heard it yet but Ron is one of the best players I have ever heard. And, I'm taking a lesson from him in a couple of weeks, can't wait.

All the best to you all,
Spitty
