They make great weights if you fish for ocean sea bass. Or, try eBay!

Keep them around. Resist the temptation to mess around with them for no reason but I find that once in a while when things aren't working chops-wise I'll pull out something I haven't used in a while and sometimes that shocks the system enough to put things together and get me through the day.

Keep them, as some day you will get curious as to whether another 'piece works better with a different horn. I use 8 different mouthpieces, depending which trumpet or cornet I have in my hand at the time. I find some combinations work better than others, and I keep a certain flexibility in my setup, so I don't develop bad habits 'marrying' one mouthpiece.

As a hobby player I can afford to do this, as I don't have regular performances to prepare for, YMMV.

I must agree with the folks that say hold on to those extra mouthpieces.
I remember a few years back, owning more mouthpieces than I would like to admit to. I also remember selling almost every single one.

A few months later I kept asking myself..."Why did I sell that piece" only to end up buying another one. As you may have guessed, as soon as I re-purchased a new model, I quickly remembered why I sold it in the first place.

As backwards as it may seem, keep those old pieces around for reference. Or, should you ever need to switch again for any reason....new horn, temporary lay off in playing time, etc. You will have the "tools" to choose from.

Or...if for anything else, maybe you will have a student or colleague that is looking for something new but does not have a local dealer that will allow them any trials. Your "library" may come in handy should you be asked to assess someone elses need for a switch.

I hope this gives you some food for though. If this is not the road you seek, it is pretty easy to sell a mouthpiece.
Best of luck!
