I'm curious as to what I could use in place of a leadpipe while, say, driving in my car on the way to a gig so I could get things going before I arrive. Ideally I'd have a leadpipe from an old trumpet, but since I don't, is there anything else I could use? _________________ Matt Miller |

I stopped by my local music store/repair shop and found a leadpipe that they had pulled off an old horn. It ended up costing me $10. Not back for a Bach Strad leadpipe. It is ugly, but the inside is clean. I use it on my daily commute.
You could alwys order a brand new leadpipe from Selmer, but that would set you back at least $100.
Good luck! |

Failing that, you could use the A pipe from your piccolo trumpet. _________________ Richard Sandals

Mr. Adam advises that trumpet playing is 90% mental, 9% air, and 1% evrything else. He also advises that it is possible to concentrate on just one thing at a time. Playing lead pipe while driving means you lack concentration on either the driving or the lead pipe sound. Both are dangerous. _________________ Bill Bergren |
