It's hard to say if it is a large bore or not. I know that if it has an "L" stamped on it, it certainly is. Otherwise, it would be a ML bore. However, I'm not sure if the older horns had a different system ... Brett may have to chime in on that.
Judging by the numbering scheme here:
http://www.musictrader.com/getzen.html
It does appear to be a 1970 horn you have. Depending on the condition of its finish and if you have the original case, I would estimate it's value to be somewhere near $750. However, if you sell it, you'd probably only get $500-$600 for it. _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS

I have a '73 model. It has an "L" and a "B" stamped slightly above the s/n on the 2nd casing. |

I have a EC 5XX which is in near mint condition. The valves are the fastest I have ever encountered (wish my Kanstul flugel valves were similar). I use the Sparx 4B soloist mouthpiece, which is a good fit for the horn. Payed $450 on eBay a few years back. |

I've got 6 brand new Eterna Cornets (5 LB's and one ML) in my studio right now that I'm trying out. I'll say one thing...Getzen must be doing something right! The 5 LB's are as close to being exactly alike as could be possible! Eventhough the ML is a great horn I'm kind of leaning towards the large bore. I can get away with using a shallower mouthpiece, that I'm used to playing, but even if I plug in a deeper, more open piece I can still control the horn. Valves are nice, fit and finish are excellent. Until I ran into these horns I always seemed to struggle when playing cornet. With these I feel very comfortable. I want to thank fellow TH'er Tootsall for turning me on to Nick DeCarlis for some advice in regards to cornets. Nick is such a nice guy who's MORE than willing to discuss cornets, at length! He turned out to be a GREAT help to me as he was the one who recommended that I try some Getzens. Thanks Ed...thanks Nick!!!

Sold it kind of cheap don't you think?? $325 as I recall.
You could have probably gotten the original Buy Now price of $499 if you would have waited a little longer. _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS
