Mr. Adam wants me to get the book by Thieke, but I haven't been able to find it. Is it still in print? If so, does anyone know of an online place where i can get it?

The only place I ever found it was in the sheet music department upstairs of the T.I.S. bookstore, across the street from the music building on IU's campus...Mr. Adam must have ordered a whole lot of them back then (late 80's) to keep in stock for his students. If I can lay my hands on it this weekend, I'll let you know who the publisher is on it...that might help your search.

The Book is available as "The Art of Trumpet Playing" by Charles Colin & Mel Broiles. It is published by Colin.

This is another example of a book that had the copyright lapse and Colin claimed it and reprinted it with himself appearing as author. The Harry Glantz book is another example of this.

Originally it was Harry Glantz-Advanced Daily Studies (more recent versions of this book have been attributed to Charles Colin &/or Aaron Harris)

The Harry Glantz book (Advanced Daily Studies) is also published by Charles Colin under the title "Progressive Technique for Trumpet."

The Thieke book "Art of trumpet Playing" is a really fantastic book. I use it regularly withmy teacher. The only negative aspect of the book is that it does not offer suggestions as to how the studies could be articulated differently. I am sure your teacher will help you with that aspect.
