When playing from MCFB, would it be possiple to play consistant intervals in each exercise instead of sticking to C major? Major 2nds instead of C major 2nds for example.
I know that this is not in the text but I am just wondering if it is possible to combine interval studies with Caruso.
Thanks |

In MCFB intervals 2nds thru 6ths are diatonic. Intervals minor 7th, maj 7th and octaves are true.
I can think of no reason why you couldn't do maj 2nds, maj 3rds, etc., straight through. I always thought the reason Carmine kept most of the intervals diatonic was to keep it as simple as possible. |

I agree with Charly that Carmine kept it diatonic to keep it simple. he instucted me to do them in all the keys and modes, and experience has shown me that there is much to be gained from symetrical practice.

I currently use (alternate days) a Claude Gordon/ Bill Knevitt routine and the Carmine Caruso Calisthenic Approach. I am finding that the alternate days approach is helpful for me, anyway.
I am now on number 6 of the suggested reviews (I stay on each for a week of alternate days) having gone all the way through the book a couple of times over the last year and a half.
Laurie, is there any particular order or sequence that you would recommend in adding the "true" intervals? |

sorry for the delay--haven't lurked in a while. I usually begin with minor 3rds and then proceed to tritones |
