Anyone interested in obtaining a corrected version of "The Encyclopedia Of The Pivot System" Please contact Dave Sheetz at (609)-652-9046. Dave personally goes through each one insuring that they are as accurate as the original 1973 version. I highly reccomend it. I should also mention that in addition to being a busy professional trumpet player in Atlantic City, Dave was a student of Dr. Reinhardt's for forty years and was personally authorized by Dr. Reinhardt to teach the "Pivot System".

First, I've really enjoyed this forum. I'm mounting my comeback on trumpet after a 20 year, post-college layoff. Reading all the insights has been an inspiration. Two questions:
1. I've seen references about the "revised" version of the Encyclopedia. I bought a the Colin version a few years back. What am I missing that would lead me to need the revised?
Secondly, any leads on a qualified Pivot instructor in the Minneapolis area?
THanks in advance. I look forward to exchanging thoughts and questions with the group as I get further into the Pivot material. |

Is Dave Sheetz gigging? What kind of jobs is he doing? I've often thought of calling him to set up a lesson, but just haven't done it yet.

CrazyHorns, Setting up a lesson with Dave Sheetz would be the best favor you could ever do for your chops. Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY knows Reinhardt's stuff like Dave. Chris |

Yo Hairy... are you in my neck of the woods? Anyway(s)... I'll set something up with Dave for sure. Hopefully it can be a convenient late afternoon on a day that I'm gigging in AC. I'm not one of the "casino cats", but I do alot of nightclubs and corporate stuff there. Dave comes highly recommended by some other guys that I've come in contact with. Nick Fantazzi... Rick Mather... etc. All great guys and wonderful players.

I think this thread is still relevant, and I'm just moving it on up.

MF Fan;
I am about 300 miles away from you in ND.
Chris is right, Dave is the most knowledgeable about Doc's system.
