I found and old cornet at an auto swap meet and the guy sold it to me for $5. It's in a really old case and inside I found the original guarantee forms. I"m assuming it's pretty old because the forms have turned brown. The serial # is 18171, on the bell it says "Oxford Made in England by Boosey and Hawkes" and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on these horns.

Gday
Ibelive the "Oxford" was a student instrument. The one next up the model line was the "Regent" and then the "Imperial" At least thats how I remember it. There are a number of sites to check the serial number. I am not at my own computor at the moment so I cant give you the links.

Cheers
Laurie
