Who Played trumpet on the Elvis Presley Movie: Double Trouble?. (which appropriately enough features a double G in the opening credits) He plays a G major arpeggio beginning on the G above high C ending on the G above double C!

Hi Mark!

I wouldn't be at all suprised if it's Maynard. He shows up in some of the Martin/Lewis movies, too.

My bet would be Walt Johnson. He played lead for Elvis starting in about 70 or so....

This movie was made in 1967. Was Maynard still doing movies then?
I'd like to know who was in Hollywood at the time? (I am assuming the Soundtrack was made in Hollywood.)

My educated guess would be Bud Brisbois.

Maynard wasn't doing LA studio work in 67, Walt probably would not have been involved in a tudio band at that time either, I would say that Brisbois is certainly a good guess as Rich mentioned.

I haven't heard the clip, so without hearing it it's hard to say.

The Movie is Double Trouble
The clip is from the opening credits.
The date is 1967.

My only input will be that it doesn't sound like Maynard, whose sound I find to be very unique in characteristic.

Do I win a prize for guessing Brisbois first?

I just guessed by the date . . . ever heard those Lou Rawls albums with the Onzy Matthews Big Band from that same era? Absolutely killin' high note work by Brisbois, some of the most jaw-dropping stuff I heard in my "formative years."

I definitely have to check that out. I do have a Kenton Album (Vinyl) with Brisbois on it. I think t is called "Road Date." It is Killer!

Sorry, the only prize is my undying gratitude.

that is probably just for the tracks he sang on. There is no doubt that Bud is the one playing that stuff during the credits....
