Hello friends,
I have seen in german TV a clip from 1988. The Station mailed me that it was "-Dizzy's Jubilee Session with friends "And then she stopped" ". Did anyone of you know the cast of this formation and whether there is a record to buy.
Thanks Wolfi

Wolfi,

the one "Gillespie and friends" session I saw (on 3sat on New Years Eve 2000, don´t know when it took place) had a incredible line up featuring Jon Faddis, Arturo Sandoval, Slide Hampton, Hank Jones, Ed Thigpen, Paquito D´Rivera, Johnny Griffin, ...
Could this be what you saw?

Hey:

In 1987 or 1988, there was a special called, "Wolf Trap Salutes Dizzy Gillespie." It had Faddis, Wynton, Vaughn Nark, Freddie Hubbard (in top form), Jimmie Owens, . . . the list goes on. It was the best televised concert I've ever seen.

Maybe you saw that?

Hello Brenter and Martin,
thank you, Martin it was the same thing I have seen also on 3sat. These are old tapes from ZDF-Jazz-Club.

uhh, man. What a line-up. Must be one of the great concerts of the last century! If anyone knows where to get this recording ... any information would be great!
