Hi!

I have both of them. C is like Bach 11/2 C. B is much deeper V cup, quite close to Warburton 4 XD. Bores are quite tight, so you do not get the traditional english brass band sound with those. The C cup might be more suitable for dixieland.

Best wishes,

I have a 43V which is a special order, but I think more likely to give you the sound you're after, and Reeves custom work isn't prohibitively priced.

The best choice is the 43B - absolutely!

I have all three: a 43C, a 43V and a 43B. Although the Reeves website lists the 43V as being deeper, it actually is not.

The 43B gives a nicer sound - especially for Cornet.

You should order it with a #22 Throat and the Reeves #3 Backbore, otherwise it will be too restrictive.

If you want the ultimate cornet mouthpiece and are willing to spend a bit more, order a Claude Gordon "CG Personal" Cornet mouthpiece from the Claude Gordon Website ( http://claudegordonmusic.com/products.htm ) and have Patty Gordon send it to K.O. Skinsnes at Bob Reeves mouthpieces. Call or e-mail K.O. and tell him you want him to cut the CG Personal into a Screw-Rim Underpart to fit to a Reeves 43 Rim. This is what I now use for Cornet and it is FANTASTIC.

K.O. can be reached at: +1 661 775 88 20 or you can e-mail him at: info@bobreeves.com

Best wishes,
