Oh! another Ps. I forgot to include in my list of mouthpieces the Curry 1 1/4 M. and 5C.....Then my LA Benge came with a miscroscopic little piece that I gave to a girl student. Perhaps that would have resembled my new GR. Who knows?

Benge 7C, to MF Jettone, to a Large letter Bach 3C that I found laying on the floor of my high school band room- in horrible condition- I brought it to the director and he told me I could keep it and try it out, Gold plated Bach Megatone 3C, Gold Plated Schilke 14A4a, went to college- tried a Schilke 15, 15A4a, 14A4a, to a new Bach 3C, Marc. Bobby Shew 2, Marc. Allen Vizzutti, Monette BL, Monette B6L, and now to a Marc. E10 Bob Findley and Marc. E3/5C, and I just ordered a mouthpiece from the Callet website- the CSV2 since I think it would work alot better than the E10 with TCE.

OK, I guess it's time for me to 'fess up. Started on a Conn 4. Then came two mouthpieces owned by my band, no idea what they were. Then switched to a Josef Klier JK 3C. Used that for about 10 years, then switched to a JK 1 1/2C. Used that for a few years but it became to big after my health issues. Now I use a Connstellation 5CW.

Regards, Christine

I use a Bach 7C. Tried a Parduba for awhile and didn't care for it too much. Occasionally, I'll also use an old Martin 7 mouthpiece. These mouthpieces are usually in combination with a Conn 22B or an Olds Ambassador.

use a Yamaha 14B4 and a Bach 3 C both good. Like the 3c a bit better gives a wamer tone . Looking for something in between maybe a 5C

I started off on a 7c, moved to a 5c then a 3c, all bach. Then I actually used an Asymmetric paperweight for a little bit, that was fun. After that, for a long time, I used a Monette B7F, but then I switched out to my current piece, a Bach 6B, after getting ripped apart at a solo/ensemble competition for having too bright a tone on the Monette.

On flugel, I use a gr67fl wahtever. I used to use a Reeves 42f, but it is too small for my liking.

I started out on a Bach 7C, and then eventually ended up on a Bach 1 1/2 C (nothing in between). I play on a Bach 72 and I love the deep, orchestral sound that it gives, but I am looking for a larger mouthpiece to give it an even more dark sound. Can anyone tell me of anything larger than a Bach 1 1/2 C?? Thanks!

Here's my Tottles.
All are "3" Rim with a variety of cup depths to suit my need (from C to E depth) for Bb,C,D,Eb,Picc and also interchangable Shanks to achieve the ultimate in Mpc to receiver gap, sound and intonation on the various keyed horns. Most often use the 3C*, with "G" (Ghitalla) Backbore.
You can get these at: http://members.aol.com/LDdiorio/doc/specchart.htm

I use a Schilke Symphony M1 most of the time, sometimes switching to a Laskey 80MD with a custom screw rim. On the rotary trumpets I use a JK 3C. I use a Curry 5M on piccolo, and a Stork 1A on cornet.

I won't even get into my mouthpiece history as I do have other things I need to do today.....

Started in Jr High on a 7C (not sure what brand - it was just marked '7C').
When I got my own horn, it came with a Bach 7C, so I used that.'

Switched to a Schilke 15 halfway through my Freshman year - though the cup was incredibly shallow, so I think it was a mis-marked mouthpiece. My mouthpiece needed to be replated the following marching season, so I played a 15C4 for a while (hated the rim).

Switched to a Schilke 20 my senior year. This was too big, but for a while, I didn't want to admit it.

Downsized to a Bach 1C in college. I never really liked the rim.

Bought a Curry 1BC about 3 years ago - and after tinkering around on it for not even a minute, my girlfriend said, "wow, it sounds better already!"

I now have:

Curry 1BC
Curry 1BC short shank
Curry 1BC modified short shank (25 throat, .017" shallower cup)
Curry Heavyweight 1M w/a 24 throat
Curry 1TF
Curry 1FL-M Flugel w/oversized french shank
Curry 1VC Cornet

I haven't had the occasion to order a Curry picc mouthpiece yet, but for the time being, I use Bach 7E and 7D in cornet shank.

I also have a Stork Vacchiano 1, a Benge 7C cornet (came with my horn) and an OLD Bach 1 with a butchered shank, but I rarely use those.

I use a custom goldplated mouthpiece underpart based upon a GR 64MS but with a modified throat and differently contoured cup shape. The backbore is also more open. It is threaded to accept Reeves #41 rims, but I prefer the Warburton #6 rim (pictured on mouthpiece) cut in a Reeves thread.

I also use a Warburton 6S top with an unidentified backbore threaded for Warburton tops. It is a very open backbore that works great on my small bore 1939 NY Bach Mercury.

I too am one of them guilty mouthpiece junky and I own a couple of hundreds of them but last year I got over it and managed to stay on one.

I only play on Hamanaga Mouthpieces except on my Taylor which I use the mouthpiece that came with it. (the Taylor is currently collecting dust in my closet, too heavy for me)
