I just picked up a Martin Committtee trumpet in nice shape, serial number 219XXX and wonder if anyone has inforrmation on the quality of instruments made in that era. Are they comparable in quality to the "real" Martins and the RMC committees?
The case has the Wurlitzer name on it, so I'm assuming it was made under their stewardship of the company. My committee has the nickel silver trim, elaborate floral engraving, .451 bore, third ring on top of the slide not side mounted, and first valve trigger. Is this a Deluxe Committee as there is not Deluxe marking on the receiver or just the standard trumpet from the early 1960's.
Thanks,
