I recentely got a B7 schilke which has a .450 bore thats expands throughout...well now my 14a4a backs ups on me, so i tried a 14a4 theproblem got a lot better, but i tried one mouthpiece that had a 26 throat ...got worse...so its the backbore. But I think there could be something better than a 14a4,'cause there is just a little of push back mostly in the f area on the top line... i tried stork...couldnt slur for some reason... any suggestions?

Call Scott Laskey. He made me a custom mp when he was with Schilke and used an 11L BB. It solved the problem.

Well, a guy from bob reeves told me that I should do their valve alighnment cause the felt pads on the schilke contribute to that problem...and then I might not even antother mouthpiece.... anyone know about this??? but i like the way the horn sounds and he said it would change and i'm not comfortable having my new schilke cut on.

If I were you, I'd stick with a Schilke mouthpiece - they are made to gap correctly in the Schilke receiver. But, something else to note, when I got my Schilke B6 (the same as the B7 except for the bell) I was using a 14A4a on my LB Strad and I found that the 14A4a mouthpiece with the tighter 'a' backbore was too tight for the B6. I went to a straight 14A4 - problem solved.
