I come to Iowa City to play a salsa gig with Brent Sandy and you don't show? I am terribly hurt. _________________ Bill Bergren |

Billy,
She was probably in the practice room getting her chops together for the Jazz Reperotry Ensemble chair that she auditioned into....
"Half Ton O Horns" burned it down da' house last night, dude! Mercy |

Brent, two questions...
1) "Half Ton O Horns" consists of you, Billy, and what? One other cat?
2) Are you saying that Lara played well enough to land that chair in the Rep Ensemble? If so, go on girl. You rock.

Pat,
Two answers....
1) I am offended! :>)) To answer your question....just the two of us.... joined by two other "non-mutants" sized horn boys.
2) Lara DID play well enough to land a chair! Lara....Great work! Keep that momentum going forward!

Woah, how come nobody told me about this salsa gig? Huh? I didn't know about it until I logged into TH just now! lol.
I just went and found out that I got into JRE...and I'm psyched! I can't wait...it's going to be so much fun. I gotta get practicing! lol. I seriously didn't think I played well enough to get into anything. Wow. Just...wow.
Actually, last night I was being a slacker and taking a (well deserved) break from school work and watched "Dawn of the Dead" and "28 Days Later" with a bunch of friends. Though, I'm not feeling very well because my allergies have returned with a vengence. I slept in pretty late this morning.
I also got into a church group as an alto, and for Christmas I'll play trumpet with them. I made a choir here too, which really makes me happy because I've really missed choir these last few years.
I can't wait for the rest of the semester! I mean, this is awesome! I'm still an open major, but, I keep leaning to something in the music department.
A very happy, though allergy ridden, girl,

Holy Cow!, Silverstar, with that kind of schedule you will have to be sure to eat right to keep your energy up. I recommend dark chocolate covered fruit creams, like from See's Candy or somewhere like that, taken every half hour or so. jbqd |

Hmmm from the title of this thread, I was waiting for the message to be "I was waiting in bed for you all night!" JK! Just kidding!
Congrats Lara on getting in that, and good luck with your busy schedule! _________________ "Music is a combination of logic and emotion that together express more than either could possibly express alone." |

Actually, when I first read the title an image of a girl in a pink wig running around shoving Mentos in Diet Pepsi bottles came to mind.
:-)
Congratulations! What pieces will be in the Rep? _________________ I am NOT a Contrarian!

Congrats on making whatever it was that you made lara...I'm not all that educated on big trumpet performances or anything so I wouldn't know too much. Good job anyways. _________________ 1942 King Cleveland Cornet

Mr. B,
I cannot make it tonight, even though I am in town. I just got home and my family wants to spend some quality 'family time' with me and they didn't want to go out tonight.
Please email me or PM me the next time you guys are in I.C. and I'll make every effort to come! I want to see you and the band!
