Hey don't get me wrong. It's not like I notice what my fellow men look like. Tend to ignore them in general. I much prefer watching the women. In fact that's ALL I do some days...

However I've seen this tendency in the past few years of men, both young and middle aged, who shave their heads bald as a billiard ball. To me it not only makes them look odd but like convicts.

Some have "short man's syndrome" too. Now that's a nasty one.

Someone mentioned to me that these shaved heads are trying to imitate a tennis pro named Agassi. Is this so?

Just askin'

It is the "who has the intelligence of an egg should also look like one" syndrome.

Well I'm not sure they are necessarily lame brained though from the limited examples I've seen so far I may eventually claim that. Not yet but getting close.

I've met some decent business men who shave their head bald. But mostly a group of yahoos in monster trucks.

I can already hold the thing for 45 seconds. A personal best. Thirty seconds is usually my tops. Sustaining it any longer would induce hair loss. On the head too...

When one of my stepsons shaved his head, I assumed it was some sort of karmic retribution for what I put my dad through ...

Steve's dad in the 1970's:
Quote:
I wish that kid would cut his hair.

Steve in the 1990's:
Quote:
I wish that kid would grow some hair.

As my stepdaughter would say, it's all good ...

It's because then, you don'T need to wash the hair. And by extension, yourself.

It might also be for the same reason that some men wear toupes. I personally prefer shaved heads to a bad comb over or toupe. Not that I care what men look like.

Well yeah if the guy is over fifty. But we're seeing kids of twenty shaving their heads. Reminds me a bit of the "skinhead" craze of the late sixties. Not a notable trend.

Then again I've been so lucky at holding on to my hair. Age 52 and only an area the size of a quarter missing.

Here's to Rogaine! Not ready for Viagra. causes headaches. So i hear anyway.

What makes me prejudicially disposed to disliking the shaved head tendency (and it really is a form of bigotry on my part) is that a few nasty clients of mine have had these shaved heads. Total jerks. Like the guy on your airplane.

Both of my brothers-in-law were bald in high school. So it isn't just the old fogies that lose hair.

I don't have any bald spots at 50+ so I expect to keep my hair.

If I were going bald, I would not hesitate to shave my head rather than try to do some kind of bizarre comb-over. Going bald is genetic, but being bald is a choice and I'd rather make a choice.

Maybe they want to be like Neil Strauss a.k.a. Style. He makes a living teaching guys how to pick up women.

It's so when we fight in the pit no one can grab me by the hair.

I like to think of my ever-increasing bald spot as a solar panel for my brain....

Funny or at least off how a thread like this gets so many hits in just one day. I'm not taking credit for it. Just an unusual phenomenon.

Kind of like the reason books about dieting always sell well. People feel insecure about their image and will focus in on these matters of looks and vanity.
