I get alot of water in my 1st valve chamber. Is this a sign of a leaky valve? The horn is Olds Recording cornet which is probably 40+ years old.
Also, my intonation is pretty bad (probably me), but maybe leaky valves?
What do you think?
thanks

Leaky valves wouldn't really cause intonation issues unless there was a SERIOUS SERIOUS leak...like so bad that you can hear it hiss.
Also, a lot of people (including myself) accumulate some water in the 1st valve. Could be the position that you hold the trumpet, could be your valves. I'd send it out to have a compression test done. Are the valves original? Have they been plated before? _________________ Joe Petrocelli |
