Does anyone know what model he used? From the exterior, looks
like a Rudy Muck - but I really am just guessing.

Shavers had a personal model listed in the Jet-Tone catalog for years.

I just happen to have a Charlie Shavers Jet-Tone as part of my collection. Very wide, slightly rounded, cushion rim with a small diameter (21/32"), medium cup. I'm not sure about the backbore or throat. The exterior is like those found on the Al Hirt/Studio/Symphony pieces. Here's the stats thanks to Bill Lewington Musical Instruments...

I know he used primarily a Bach 10 3/4 EW before he had his own custom piece.

Jerome Callet's SC2 and SC3 are based on Charlie Shaver's Calichio mouthpiece from the 40's. It's medium shallow, double-cup-ish with a wide comfy rim and i.d. of about a Bach 10 1/2. Surprisingly big sound and easy to play in all registers.
