anyone ever seen this stamping before? how rare is this? Like the seller says, the Bach Loyalist site does not even show this type of stamping. Just saw this on ebay and it ends soon, I am tempted to bid, but is this really as rare as the seller hypes it up to be?

I just sold my VINCENT BACH CORP 3C which is a 60's piece for 165.00 on eBay today. I have had two in this configuration, and am not certain whether of not this might have been stock for the transition to Elkhart or not. Certainly is a scarce item, but it is already going pretty high. Mine was gold plated, however, the 1 1/2C is a little more desirable a piece maybe it is worth the bucks. His 3C in the same configuration did not sell and was bid up to about 88.00

What matters is how it works for you. Whether the division bar is horizontal or on an angle makes no difference to me.

i understand about the functional properties of mouthpieces... i am simply bringing this up as a historical perspective, is this essentially the closest mouthpiece to that made in the mt. vernon factory when it closed? just the first bach mouthpiece i have seen with this exact style stamping.

Looks like a great job of describing a mouthpiece to me. Nothing looks that out of the ordinary or rare.

I have one of those I got off ebay as well. Mine is not as polished, but still smooth. Also, on mine the letters are thinner. This one looks almost laser cut like the new ones. I got mine for $35, and it is very close to my Kanstul Mt.V copy.
