Maybe this should be a different thread, but John what horn are you playing now, and which Courtois was it?
And mic gain is way more complex than merely volume. If you want timbre, you've got to respect the gain structure. Finding volunteers (as Churches usually use) that understand this AND can do it for both a guitar and a trumpet is ... pretty rare. So I prefer not using house sound for any instrument I play. I'd easily say the same about the crew over at Dillons. I got my early 60's King Silversonic from them and was (and still am) extremely happy with it and their service. I'd buy from either of them again. While I'm talking about online shops, I've also had a very positive buying experience with John at the Trumpet Trader. |
