I bought a Shilke 20 HeavyWeight at the NAMM show in Jan. I switched from a Bach 1C. I just want to know what you guys think of the mouthpiece?
I'm in a high school band... |

OK i used to play/march a 202D2d in high school and loved it. Had no range problems or endurance issue back then due to all the practicing.
That being said just cause you can does not mean you really should. As Jens Lindemann said anything bigger than a 3C is really specialized equipment. OK some other pro's will let you go to a 1 1/2C for symphonic stuff (he consider them specialists though). But really in the end specialized equipment. Unless you have a physical reason to go that big you probably should not be there.
Should probably get back down to a say a 14 or 15 max. Get with a private instructor and go over your equipment choices.
I still love being able to walk up with a big round tone on a BUCKET and nail that high C with clarity and power though. Makes people look at you funny. _________________ Kanstul Chicago 1001
