Yesterday 4-22, and today was a great Bach event at Steinway Hall on W 57th in NYC. Yesterday I met Steve Dillon, owner of Dillons music and Tedd Waggoner, Bach's main man at the helm. Jeff Christiana, head of marketing for trumpets and trombones was there, and he is quite a trumpet player. SteveTedd and Jeff were really great to meet and talk to regarding the contest horn, new things that they are doing, and to try the many horns that were on display. Really nice people. The quality of the horns and playability was exceptional based on the comments by some that were there.

Below are couple of preliminary pictures of parts of the contest horn. The valve case is nickel and brass. Pictures don't do the quality of the work justice. The serial number is 2008 per my request to Tedd with the ML stamp above the number just like the MT. Vernons and Early Elkharts. On the opposite side is a stamp very reminicent of the Mt. Vernons except is says V. BACH ELKHART IN. U.S.A. Keep in mind that this valve case hasn't been produced in more than 45 years! It's easy to see why I truly didn't expect my vision to be fullfilled since this was so far out of their production methods for decades.

Also is a picture of the beautiful Gold brass lightweight 43 bell, side seam with a perfect French bead. There are some fingerprints when I took the shot, but the workmanship is stunning. The bell has Stradivarius Model 43G Vincent Bach ELKHART IN U.S.A. with the star which indicates light weight bell gauge .020 and Faciebat Anno 2008.

Although this is a raw representation and unassembled, I'm sure that the result will be great when it is assembled at Dillon music. Thats it for now. Should I wait until it is complete before providing additional pictures, or would some of you like to see the progress of the assembly?

You will have a fine horn....especially when they straighten the valve buttons... Just kidding of course... keep the pictures coming so we can all share the experience.

When it is complete we will all come to your place to have a blow on it...... I reckon if you charged $10.00 for a 3 minute blow you could soon order another one...on second thoughts I would be tempted to keep it all to myself and create all sorts of pain..... you certainly wouldn't want someone else's body chemistry to cause the valves to hang!
