I received a private message from someone named "prolificus." It was a link to a Cialis site. It was unsolicited, unneeded, and unappreciated. Whoever you are, "prolificus," you have my most transient regards. _________________ Jim Hatfield

I got a PM from that P.O.S. this morning too, disguised as something from "Forum Administration." Then, trustingly clicking on the link I am directed to the sexual enhancement ad.

Happened to me today too. This is a serious invasion into the running of this forum. If we can't trust that we would only get a pm from another member or perhaps even the admin., why have the ability to receive pm's at all. I won't click on such messages anymore. It could enable someone to infect your computer with a virus.
Regards,

Everyone should train themselves to look in the status bar of their browser to see where a link actually takes you before clicking. I see *.ru, I know it's bad news.

Got the same one yesterday. I have the WOT firefox extension - it lets you know the website's ratings and it did - all categories bad. It shows you bad ratings before you see the web page itself.
It could well be a software program which posts messages automatically to users of forums, not one that is sent manually. _________________ Michael Greenberg

Me too (it's actually "Profilicus"). Grrr. Perhaps the system that works on Marketplace (no listings without a certain number of forum postings) should apply to PMs to prevent any more spamming like this.
