I never asked Doc what that meant, but I always figured he was talking about the way a 2 looks . . . that my head should be rocked back a little so that the profile of the back of my head looks sorta like the upper part of the numeral 2.
Is this correct?

Granted, I don't know much about the Reinhardt way of things, but could it have been in reference to stance? As in first position, second position third position, etc.? I know I saw something regarding stance a few days ago on here, so that's where my mind immediately went.
John
Edit: for spelling.

I'm with Rich on this one.
I also think he meant like a "2".
This position helps protect your neck muscles from rupturing.

On page 20 of The Encyclopedia Of The Pivot System: Topic, Posture: The TWO HEAD POSITION 1. The Head slightly back and 2. Down. No mention of the #2 or "shaped like a 2. Also added, Doc said "relaxed", which is not a position but a "state" or condition. Hence, the"Two Position" for the head.

Yes, there was no mention of the ONE position for the head, so I was wondering if the shape of the numeral 2 is what's meant by that. He never told me, and I just sorta figured that's where he got the term TWO position.

Alright, it looks like this topic has served its usefulness.
I was wondering where the term came from, Dave (airdyn) listed the definition out of the Encyclopedia . . . everything else is speculation.
The meaning of The Two Head Position according to Dr. Donald S. Reinhardt has already been stated.
The origin of the term shall likely remain a mystery. That's it.
