Quote: | If it's the Holst, Shostakovich and Elgar, there should be Bb parts available... | It was my understanding from the OP that this is a band, although I know from some previous jhatpro posts that he plays in some sort of reading orchestra as well. If it is a band, then Holst (one of the Suites), Shostakovich (Finale to 5, I think) and Elgar (Enigma, I believe, and perhaps just the "Nimrod" section) are all originally Bb parts in the band versions and transcriptions. You certain that this isn't a community orchestra, treblehorn? I think jhatpro posted a similar one concerning your repertoire for the upcoming orchestra season. |

It's definitely not an orchestra, but it's not your run-of-the-mill band either. The only string is one bass, but there's quite a few woodwinds, including a bassoon, obe, an english horn, and 5 bass clarinets. I didn't think there were 5 people left playing bass clarinet! _________________ Alan
Whole buncha brass. Big, small, short, long, coiled and straight. Someday I'll be able to play them. |

Isn't that what really matters? |

It's a moot point now. The Bb parts showed up last night, apparently delivered by a drummer.
I'm still thinking I'll play the C anyway to shake the cobwebs out. _________________ Alan
