Hi there,

Who knows which taper I have to order for my Arnolds & Sons FL-665L. Currently I'm playing a Denis Wick 4BFL, but am considering to buy a Curry.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob-

I haven't a clue.

But if the Wick seats without wobbling, then it's sure to take a tapered shank of some kind, most likely my standard shank (marked "-Y").

Where's this flugel made?

I've seen the A&S flugels, and they strongly resemble many Chinese flugels, although it could be a cheap Hoxon Taiwanese stencil.

I've send them an email for further information.
This is the website http://www.arnolds-sons.de/Fluegelhorn.645.0.html. As far as I know the instruments are indeed manufactured in a country such as China or Taiwan. They're good instruments for the occasional gig. Stays tuned even above high c.

I didn't get through using that link-

One more question. Does a regular trumpet mouthpiece seat in the receiver without wobbling?

If so, it may take the "german" 10mm flugel shank.

http://www.arnolds-sons.de/ is the main website. It's in German.

A normal (Curry) mouthpiece goes in for about 21-22mm and does not wobble.

I got an email back and the recommendation was to use a small taper.
