Hi
There is a Martin Magna flugelhorn on eBay
How good is this horn? Not to use it as a replacement for a flugelhorn, but as a collection "eye-candy" item and a fun horn to have.
How does it play? What about intonation?
Is it worth it?
Thank you. |

I had one for a while. It was an odd horn. Funky intonation and a cross between a cornet and a flugel. Plus, you need to make sure you find a Martin Flugel mouthpiece since the taper is funky as well. I would stay clear honestly. There is a reason why that design didn't survive the test of time Same with vintage Bach flugel's with the cornet wrap.
A fun horn to have on your wall? sure |

And it was the flugel Miles played on the great recordings with the Gil Evans orchestra. |
