last year i had some master classes with Vince DiMartino and he was blow up the room with his custom Reeves mpc and belive me his sound is not funny or schrill mabe on the bright side but this is not bad , the mpc is just a tool a good one or a bad one o.k but if someone sounds funny with a piece for sure is not the piece but the player.

they can all do it. Marcinkiewicz copied a piece that Herrick made for me in the 60's. As he worked for Herrick and learned from him that was my best bet..for the similar character of sound. Bottom line: the Marcinkiewicz has the feel and character of sound of the Herrick but played more open (same specs) anyway...go to whoever is closer and stand there and try the piece at different stages of the process... |
I had the chance to do that with some Greg Black and Callet stuff but all my other custom stuff is over the phone and through the mail. And Marcinkiewicz and Kanstul are great for that. |

I had a Schilke 13C4 cup put into a Conn 4 body by Jim New at Kanstul. It cost $130.00 and that included plating. It took less than two weeks from door to door. They digitize the samples you send them and splice the models together to create what you want. It's not rocket science as some have suggested. Lot's of people can do this work. Kanstul is very good at it and I would not hesitate to have them do future work for me. _________________ Veteran comebacker!
