hello all
hey I am in need of some info that maybe someone can help me with
I need to make a flugel mouthpiece for a guy that plays a getzen. I have a getzen flugel piece here so I figured I could get the correct shank end O.D from that mouthpiece.
Whoops! the shank has been turned down to a bach flugal size. I do know that getzen takes a bigger shank than a bach or yamaha (I think!)
Just as a reference here is what I think the different flugel shank sizes are, give or take.
Bach=.354
yamaha =.358
schilke= 370
Curry=.370
getzen =????
those are just from the ones that I have laying around.
anyone with a calipers that might care to get a measurement?
maybe it would be cool to measure yours to see if you get the same thing I get. I would be interested in any measurements you all might come up with.
You just have to get the calipers right at the very edge of the end of the shank
Thanks a ton in advance!

I don't have calipers, but my Getzen takes a large Morse taper. Why don't you call Flip? _________________ Crazy Nate - Fine Yet Mellow Fellow

I needed to make two of them tonight and did not feel like bothering flip. basically I figured that getzen would take the "large" shank like schilke and curry (.370)
So I made two of them in large, and found out that it works WAY better in my king flugel, which i always thought was a bach shank. I guess it takes the large shank too.
thanks nate
