For the trumpet players who own or have played a Lawler C7, what is the verdict on the comparision to the Martin Committee?
Thanks, Rob _________________ 2010 Getzen 3895 Custom Flugelhorn

If you do a search you will find lots of information that has been posted already.
Short answer - they look different, sound different, and play really different. There is my verdict. I have owned 4 different Committee's and 2 different C7's. That being said the C7 is still a heck of a horn but don't expect it to be a Committee. |

Thanks MPO! Having never played either horn but like the sound of the Committee, (Baker, Davis, Botti) I once asked months ago why hasn't anyone recreated the Committee due to of it's popularity and sound and I was told that Lawler did with the C7. _________________ 2010 Getzen 3895 Custom Flugelhorn

When I first got my C7 a few years ago and played it before rehearsal started an individual in the trumpet section asked me if I was playing a Committee as he thought it sounded like one. Another Th'er, rolling360, has the first C7 Super Deluxe produced and blind play tested it against a Martin Committee. Neither he, nor the owner of the Committee could tell the difference with their backs turned. The C7 is an awesome player I will add. _________________ Richard

How can you play with your back turned?? _________________ veery715

The owner of the Committee played both his horn and Doug's Super Deluxe while Doug listened with his back turned. They then switched. Either that, or they did some severe contortions. Knowing Doug, it was probably the latter. _________________ Richard
