Yes of course! Don't we all know? He posts here under "fitzpatrick83." All of us are very grateful for his insight on playing the trumpet. _________________ 2003 All-State Musician |

That would explain his silence lately.
Oh how I miss his insights into the upper echelons of trumpet playing. |

I'm pretty sure the trial period for the finalists is in January. Guess we will all have to wait. _________________ Matt Cyr

I saw rumor on myauditions.com that the finalists were Balasz Nemez, who won the Met audition but declined the position; and Marco Braito, a finalist in Berlin, are the two European gentlemen who still remain in the running. Can anyone concur?

Dear elbobogrande
I also concur. Those are the 2 gentleman, and they will have some trial runs with the CSO.
Too bad that the principal trumpeter from Atlanta wasn't put in the ultimate final-final round. He is a fabulous player, best I've heard since Bud, Phil Smith. Check out this guys new recordings on Telarc-one of them won a Grammy.
Regards,
RW |

The two finalists will get to play with the orchestra over the next couple weeks, now that Daniel "I love rotary trumpets" Barenboim is back in town. They are doing Beethoven, but will have some seperate rehearsals, where other repertoire is played.
stay tuned,
romey
