Ryan is an active performer and teacher around New York City.. He earned his B.M from Louisiana State University; while he was a student at LSU, he was the principal trumpet of the LSU Wind Ensemble and lead trumpet in the LSU Jazz Ensemble this past year. Ryan has played with the Baton Rouge Symphony, Baton Rouge Little Theater, and Swine Palace Theater around the Baton Rouge area. Recently, Ryan was the recipient of the 2008 Aspen Music Festival Brass Quintet Fellowship (Trinity Brass) under the tutelage or the American Brass Quintet. Cuurently Ryan is pursuing his master degree at the Manhattan School of music, studying with Tom Smith. His teachers include Dr. Brian Shaw, Brian McWhorter, Jefferey Kaye, and Carolyn Wahl.
Ryan is also an active composer and arranger. Some of his arrangements and compositions have been performed by the Atlantic Brass Quintet, LSU Brass Ensemble, Trinity Brass Quintet, Pinellas Youth Symphony, and Seminole High School Wind Ensemble. |
