I learned and played a Bugel in Boy Scouts, achieving "Life" scout rank. Attended the 1969 National Jamboree in Coeur d'Alene,, ID at Farragut State Park. I bought my 1st trumpet in 6th grade, a Conn Student model "Director" with copper bell, still own it, wish to sell it also... very playable, a few nicks and bangs, great for practice, marching, and/or student use. I bought the Benge in 1971 in San Diego, Ca, at a local area music store names Ozzies. I was a Sophomore in HS then. This Benge has been pampered, only used for indoor concerts, I always had a trumpet bag that was padded, otherwise it was in the original case. I played in a high school jazz ensemble, and later in a Community Jr. College Jazz - Performing Artists (2nd Seat) Brass and Wind Group. Later became a Safety and Fire Protection Engineer, occasional playedtrumpet horn, but in 1989 had a single car accident in CA Bay Area, broke my neck, fell asleep commuting home from working long hours... Safety Consultant, Client was City of Valdez Alaska, remember Exxon Valdez Oil Spill? I was working 20/7 on that loss, Representing City and Port. Enough about me... Time to get this horn to a new owner who will appreciate it's uniqueness and history. It (Benge 3) is a beautiful sounding and great looking instrument! Also have a 1921 C.G. Conn Coronet to sell!
