I lead two traditional jazz bands here in the NW Indiana/Chicago area. The Swing Dogs perform in a late 1930s
hot tradjazz jam session style, The Dixie Dogs reflect a New Orleans traditional jazz approach with a strong blues feel.
Previously I led the Vintage Jazz Quinitet (along with muted cornet) and played Django Rheinhart inspired gypsy jazz.
I have collected many vintage trumpets and cornets through the years. My current arsenal of horns include:
Paris Selmer 19A and model 20 trumpets from the 1950s, reburbished New York Bach 43 trumpet, Getzen 3001 goldplated trumpet, Getzen tilted-bell extra large bore Eterna trumpet, LA Benge pocket trumpet, Puje trumpet,
Paris Selmer model TT trumpet. Cornets include Marcinkiwicz Rembrandt, Getzen 3850, vintage 1933 Paris Selmer
gold plated cornet and Wild Bill Davison actual King Master Super 20 cornet he used in the 1970s. |
