| I have 40 + years of public school teaching experience. While the majority of my band directing has been with high school musicians, I have taught at all grade levels. I have also been fortunate to maintain a performance identity as a classical and jazz performer. I co-founded the Jazz Express, a 20 piece big band; was a staff musician at St. Josephat's Basilica, Milwaukee; was a charter member of the Waukesha Area Symphonic Band; and a freelance musician throughout southeastern Wisconsin. My top high school jazz ensemble was an Essentially Ellington finalist band in 2010. My concert, jazz, and marching bands performed overseas many times. I have been a member of the Carroll University jazz staff, and am currently Executive Director and conductor of the Youth Wind Orchestra of Wisconsin, a regional high school honors band based at Carroll University. I am a senior consultant for Youth Music of the World, a hybrid production company that produces major European events at the request of those foreign governments that retain their services. |
