I just tried searching for a yamaha serial number list on google, but didn't find anything. Your best option is probably just to call yamaha and ask them. _________________ J. Fowler

What's the model number? That might help us date it. I think most of the Yamalloy-afflicted horns had three-degit numbers, like YTR-738.

Am I the only person in the dark about this curse? What the heck is it? What's wrong with Yamaloy?
Thanks,
John

Fret not......
This story (fact or fiction) has been floating around for years...about the problem....but for the most part,:
keeping your valves well oiled (with either the new Viper Oil formula or the more obtainable new Yamaha Premium valve oil (with the blue label) should keep you rather trouble free.... and maybe at first a good cleaning with prep-sol or naptha' on the inside of the casings and on the valves themselves to help rid any left overs from oils
such as my old beloved Al Cass...which for some reason...doesn't seem get along well with either my old YTR-739t or my Callet but I used for years with no problems on my old nickle plated Selmers or Bessons??? Hummm? |

Hi Sam
Is this the one for sale at Packers. If so I saw it in the summer and it was fine. A few pupils of mine have had them and I think I've still got one myself here somewhere. Never had any trouble with any of them.
hope this helps
all the best
