That’s interesting Dave.
It seems to me that most modern classical soloist’s play predominantly on C, and for some pieces Eb and piccolo. In fact I saw a master class dvd given by Hakan Hardenburger in which he advised a player to use a C trumpet rather than a Bb when playing his performance of Legende by George Enescu.
I thought Rafael Mendez may have played C on the numerous recordings of classical pieces he performed during his amazing musical life.
Is the conventional wisdom that the C trumpet is the best instrument for most classical pieces? _________________ 'Its never too late to try somthing new'
